2019 Holiday Giving Campaign

At this time of year, we are especially thankful for our many supporters, volunteers and donors that have helped Uptown continue to operate to help the homeless and needy in our neighborhood.  Our client numbers are increasing and your support allows our momentum to grow to meet this demand.  There are approximately 5,000 people living in the City of San Diego who are homeless, fighting with cold temperatures and rain while looking for food.  Many of these would also love to have communication with their families.  From June through this week, Uptown has given out 4,333 bags of food, received and distributed 17,486 pieces of mail, and had 2,336 clients use our computers to communicate with family and friends.  We could not have done this without YOUR help!  I am so amazed by your kindness to the less fortunate.  Thank you!

As we are in the season of giving, we hope you will consider an end of the year gift to Uptown.  In 2020 we hope to increase the number of hours that we are open, provide food three times per week (from two in 2019) and partner with the city and the county to find housing for more of our clients.

All donations are tax deductible for 2019 and will mean so much to our Board, staff, and volunteers who work at the center.

Thank you again for your support of Uptown and the people that we serve.  We are so dependent upon our supporting organizations and individuals like you to continue our mission at Uptown Community Service Center.
